This is a simple recosntruction of the first ever made microscope. In the 1670s the Antonie Philips van Leeuwenhoek a Dutch buisnessman designed created a device meant check the quality of the fabrics. During some observations he noticed small organisms and from there his interest in the microcosm began. (More info on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonie_van_Leeuwenhoek). I designed it on the occasion of the festival of science in order to show to the people and expecially kids how was the...

Van Leeuwenhoek's microscopes were very small simple instruments, with a single, yet strong convex lens (1 to 3 mm in diameter) mounted in a tiny hole in the body of the instrument. Combining this old microscope with the great cameras found on cell phones and tablets, we were able to create a very inexpensive microscope. To fabricate the objective you need to prepare one little glass ball and must be pushed into the hole on the clip until the front of the lens is flush with the housing....

This is a small and simple pocket microscope. With an inexpensive 4mm lens it is possible to see things such as blood cells, epithelia cells and objects of that magnitude if properly prepared as in sets of basic science microscope slides. This will require two adjustment screws with nuts and washers, also a lens and thread taps for the lens and screws. I used a M12x0.5 tap for the 4mm CCTV lens from ebay and 38mm, allen key M3 bolts for the adjustment screws. Double sets of lock nuts can be...
